Medical Care Services
Wellness Exams
Whether young or old, annual exams are a great way to keep your loved ones healthy. A wellness examination is a complete physical examination that may include diagnostic testing such as blood work, urinalysis, and checking a stool sample for parasites. Regular appointments not only allow us to detect hidden issues in their earliest stages, but they're also a great opportunity for your pet to bond with your Nanaimo veterinarian and grow comfortable with our clinic.
Diagnostics
Before your pet can be successfully treated for any malady, he or she must be accurately diagnosed, which is not as easy as it sounds. The veterinarian team at Mahalo can provide pet diagnostics in Nanaimo and the Vancouver Island area.
Vaccinations
Just like humans, pets need vaccinationsto protect them from possibly fatal illnesses. Even indoor pets run the risk of picking up harmful viruses, especially if they are boarded often or have contact with other pets. At Mahalo, we'll work with you to develop a vaccination program that ballances your pet's health and lifestyle.
Dentistry
Healthy teeth and gums are an important aspect to your pet’s overall health. At Mahalo Veterinary Hospital we provide a full range of dental services for pets in Nanaimo and Vancouver Island, including cleanings, prophylaxis, X-rays, and extractions, to help prevent the onset of dental disease.
Radiology/X-ray
When we need to figure out what’s wrong with your pet, we routinely use x-rays to help identify the cause of the problem. X-rays provide valuable information about a pet’s bones, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, and genitourinary system. We offer digital radiology that allows us to provide you with a quick diagnosis for your pet.
Parasite Control
Parasite control is an important service for pets, whether they’re often outdoors, or mainly in the house. Protecting your pets from fleas, ticks, and other parasites can prevent some of the illnesses they can carry and allergic reactions. We can help eradicate your pet’s parasite problem or provide medication to prevent them.
Dermatology
We are committed to providing comprehensive workups on itchy, allergic pets that help lead to cures or to the formulation of a tailor-made management plan for the patient.
Ultrasounds
Ultrasound use is quick and painless, it uses sound waves to allow us to look inside your pet’s body to help us diagnose their problems. Abominial, cardiac, soft tissue and joint, our services are provided through our partners at Sonovue
